Kolot HaDorot: A Celebration of 50 Years of Women in the Cantorate Concert

The American Conference of Cantors presents a historic concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of Cantor Barbara Ostfeld, the first female ordained cantor. This extraordinary musical event will feature multiple choirs, spanning generations of cantorial talent, performing a diverse repertoire from Renaissance compositions to contemporary pieces. Temple Sinai’s own Cantors Rachel Rhodes, Rebecca Robins, and Cantor Emerita Laura Croen will participate.

The concert promises a powerful exploration of Jewish musical heritage, showcasing works that highlight the journey of women in cantorial leadership. Audiences will experience an inclusive performance featuring 200 cantors and musicians, presenting a unique musical narrative that spans different eras, geographical regions, and musical styles.
