Affinity Groups

Temple Sinai is a community that values the active engagement of members in leadership and community-building. Committees and Task Forces work in partnership with staff to help shape the direction of temple life and to utilize members with particular interests and skills. All committees are established by the Board of Trustees. Committee chairs and members are appointed by the temple president. All task forces or special advisors to the Board of Trustees are also appointed by the president. Affiliate Organizations, established through the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ), are independent affiliates of Temple Sinai. Members of Temple Sinai also serve on national boards of organizations under the URJ umbrella.

Daytimers: Join us once a month via Zoom to hear from a guest speaker. Topics range from history to current events and everything in between. Programs are usually the 2nd Monday of the month at 1:00 pm. Check the Adult Learning page for details. Questions? Contact Ron Merrill, Daytimers Chair.

Daytimers Social: Please join us the 3rd Wednesday of the month for an in-person social hour at the temple. We provide the coffee and homemade cake, you provide the company and conversation. If you can, please let TS Member Engagement Coordinator Karen Auerbach know if you are coming. You are also welcome to just show up!

We provide support to members at times of illness, loss, hardship and celebration. We use volunteers to visit members and to deliver challahs, yahrzeit candles and baby baskets and we arrange transportation for members to Temple Sinai. Learn more.
