CIESJ Presents: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) In Troubled Times
October 5 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

The IDF has faced increasing controversy over its role in the West Bank and Gaza. While failing to protect Palestinian and Bedouin Arabs in the West Bank and those who have accompanied them for their protection, it has also faced attacks from irate settlers. In addition, the composition of the IDF and its leadership has undergone a transition from those from the Kibbutz to many from the nationalist religious camp. The ideals of the IDF have been challenged since October 7th and individual soldiers have been convicted of war crimes. What does the future hold for this important Israeli institution?
