The Moment We Are In, The Future We Pray For (January 30, 2024)

The Union for Reform Judaism and the major Reform Movement organizations of North America, including the Central Conference of American Rabbis and ARZA, issued a statement calling for a diplomatic settlement of the conflict that will ensure Israel’s long-term security and the establishment of Palestinian self-governance.

Reform Leadership Responds to President Trump’s Recent Comments on Gaza (February 5, 2025)

It is unrealistic and dangerous, will cause additional regional instability, poses grave security risks to Israel and undermines Palestinian self-determination. It jeopardizes the current ceasefire and hostage release deal, as well as their future phases. And it impedes the longstanding principle of a negotiated two-state solution, which, despite everything, still holds the best possibility for peace, stability, and a secure, viable future for all those in the region. Trump’s announcement neglected the next phase of ceasefire negotiations and freeing the remaining hostages, which must remain central to any conversations regarding the region.

Reform Movement Statement on Starvation in Gaza (July 27, 2025)

The ongoing crisis in Gaza is a devastating reminder of the immense human cost of war. Nearly two years into Israel’s war against Hamas, Israelis are still waiting for the return of their loved ones held hostage, and innocent Palestinians are caught in a mounting humanitarian catastrophe. Hamas has repeatedly demonstrated its willingness to sacrifice the Palestinian people in its pursuit of Israel’s destruction, but Israel must not sacrifice its own moral standing in return. Neither escalating military pressure nor restricting humanitarian aid has brought Israel closer to securing a hostage deal or ending the war.

Nir Hasson: Killing of Gaza Paramedics Proves Some IDF Claims Are Just Alternative Facts
Last month’s killing of 15 rescue workers revealed another truth of the war in Gaza. It revealed what the IDF has tried to hide – that its reports about ‘terrorists,’ ‘terrorist infrastructure,’ and ‘fighting’ are exaggerations in the best case, lies in worst

Yossi Verter: Shin Bet Chief’s Affidavit Opened Israel’s Most Horrifying Pandora’s Box
Ronen Bar’s revelations highlight yet again that Benjamin Netanyahu is an immediate danger to Israeli democracy, statehood, norms of integrity and fairness – and to Zionism itself. He will not be declared incapacitated, but the Supreme Court must order a criminal investigation.
